Dr. Levit: A Journey of Medicine, Resilience, and Purpose
In an era where medicine often feels transactional, Dr. Levit stands apart—a dermatologist whose practice is rooted in legacy, compassion, and an unshakable commitment to truth. His story is one of resilience, inherited from a grandfather who fled Soviet persecution, and of purpose, shaped by a deep desire to heal not just skin, but lives.
A Legacy of Courage
Dr. Levit’s journey began long before he entered medicine—it began with his grandfather, a gynecologist in the Soviet Union who risked everything for freedom. "He threw his medical tools out the window during a KGB raid," Dr. Levit recounts. "If they’d found them, he’d have been arrested." The family fled to Israel in 1971, where his grandfather rebuilt his practice, instilling in young Levit the values of perseverance and service.
That legacy became his compass. A gifted athlete, Levit was on track for the 1992 Olympics—until his mother reminded him of the family’s medical calling. "I chose medicine as a tribute to my grandfather," he says. "But I’ve never regretted it."
Dermatology with a Deeper Mission
Though his mother steered him toward dermatology ("You’ll have a better life," she insisted), Dr. Levit found it far from predictable. "I’ve been called in at 2 a.m. to stitch patients," he laughs. But what excites him most is dermatology’s holistic potential. "The skin is a mirror. Nails can reveal kidney disease; hair can signal cancer. Anti-aging isn’t vanity—it’s prevention."
His approach blends science and intuition. Once, he biopsied a mole two "top" dermatologists dismissed—it was melanoma. "Patients know their bodies. Listen to them."
Speaking Out When It Matters
Dr. Levit’s courage extends beyond the clinic. During COVID-19, he challenged mainstream narratives, reporting vaccine side effects and advocating for individualized care. Social media platforms blocked him. "They silenced me for stating facts," he says. Undeterred, he installed UVC lights in his office, kept his team safe, and treated high-risk patients—without a single staff infection.
When Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, he ran through New York’s streets waving an Israeli flag. "Fear feeds darkness. We must be the light."
The Heart of His Practice
What sets Dr. Levit apart? "We treat patients like family." He recalls helping a friend’s daughter pro bono, spending hours reviewing her blood work. "Insurance didn’t cover it, but she needed help." His staff shares this ethos—lunch breaks wait if a patient needs more time.
The Road Ahead
Now, Dr. Levit balances clinical work with advocacy, writing, and music (his song Tango of Love is on YouTube). He dreams of expanding his anti-aging therapies and publishing a book honoring Israeli war heroes’ families. "Their stories must be told," he says.
His advice to young professionals? "Embrace discomfort. Growth happens outside your comfort zone."
A Life Anchored in Faith
Above all, Dr. Levit credits his faith. "God is my skeleton. Everything else builds from there." Whether healing patients or standing for truth, his mission is clear: "Leave the world better than you found it."
In Dr. Levit’s hands, medicine isn’t just a career—it’s a calling.
